Operation: get 'em back together

Chapter 1

"Why my parents?" thought Charlotte. Charlotte was in her bed, wide AWAKE. She was having a sleepover with her best friends, Rosie Linzdale and Katie Winnslott.
Charlotte and Rosie were twins.

Yep, they were twin sisters. They were best friends too. They loved to be together all the time. There were only a few ways how you could tell them apart. Charlotte was a little shy at times, not a tomboy, not a girly girl. She was BRILLIANT at art, which was her favourite thing in the whole wide world. She had red hair, a kind of autumn leaf colour. She was quite fond of reading.
Rosie, on the other hand, was really bubbly, courageous, adventurous, a tomboy sometimes. But she wasn't always a tomboy, or a girly girl…she did care about how she looked though. She didn't want to look too girly or too much like a tomboy. She had soft, straight, rose red hair, and long black eye lashes with hazel-brown eyes. They were both 12 years old. Rosie was 10 minutes older though.
There was a problem with the twins' lives though……..THEIR PARENTS WERE….divorced. Yes, that's right, they were split. Katie's parents were split too. The three girls weren't very happy about this…


Chapter 2

The next weekend, Katie went to stay over at her mum's place, but she started to get bored, so she rang up the twins and asked them to come round.
"Hello? Is it Charlie? (Charlottes's nick- name) Can you come round? Listen, I've got a great plan to get our parents back together!!Wear something nice to go out! Come quickly, bye!"


Chapter 3

So Charlie and Rose (Rosie's nick-name) started to get ready. Charlie wore her white T-shirt with beautiful dainty black flower designs with it, with some VERY skinny jeans. Rose wore a sparkly black dress with gold butterflies on it, a black cardigan over it, and some black leggings to go with it. When suddenly Kay (Katie's nick name) rang again! Rosie picked up this time.
"Bring your mum! Tell your dad to come too!" Katie shouted in excitement.


Chapter 4

So when their mum started to do a quick bath, and after they'd got ready, they asked their mum if they could phone their dad to see if he could come round to Katie's mum's. Since they stayed with their mum, after the split, they needed her permission to phone their dad, or go and see him.
"Hey, dad? Umm…there's this party thing at Kay's mum's place tonight…and Kay said to invite you round too! Please, please, please can you come Dad??" pleaded the twins.
"Well, guys…uh...I'm really sorry, but I can't come today girls. Wait, I think I can actually. Lemme check my schedule…"
There was quite along pause, for 3-4 minutes. Eventually, he said "Umm….tomorrow?" he asked, waiting to see what they would reply.
"DAD!" they shouted angrily.
"Just JOKING!!! What time shall I go round?" he asked.
"Umm…we'll…we'll…uh…ask Katie! Phone you in a minute, Dad!" stuttered the twins.
So they phoned Katie, and then Katie said "Umm…about that…I kinda forgot to ask my mum if she could have a party, so I asked her now, and she said no! We have to go shopping! She wants to do some sort of bonding with me! Sorry! I'll try again tomorrow!"
"It's ok…but next time, ASK first!" the twins' exclaimed.
So the twins told their dad that it wasn't happening anymore…


Chapter 5

After Kay's plan had totally failed, the girls decided to think of another plan. So they thought, and thought…and thought. Until…THEY'D HAD IT! THEY'D THOUGHT OF ANOTHER PLAN! Hopefully, this one would actually work!

They just loved going to McDonalds! So why not take their parents out for a treat there?
"Hmm, maybe we could go? Tomorrow? Trust me guys! We're gonna have a great time there…" Katie blabbered on about it all through break-time at school.
So Katie phoned her dad and asked if he could make it to McDonalds tomorrow, and said that she would pay for everything that they bought.
"Oh, Dad! Thanks so much! I'll pay for everything! I promise! Come over to mums place tomorrow at about…3.30? Charlotte and Rosie are coming too, you know, the twins? Ok, bye Dad!" Katie went on.
"Sure Kay!" her dad called, trying to sound extremely enthusiastic, like Katie.
So then Kay asked her mum if she could make it too.
"Sure, dear. Shall I pay for it again?" said Kay's mum, sarcastically.
"NO, its ok, I've got some money this time, so I'm gonna be paying." Replied Kay generously.
"Good, so where did you get the money from?"
There was a one minute pause, until her mum said "Oh, never mind, I have to go and make dinner" smiling.

So then the twins phoned their dad and asked if he could come to McDonalds with them.
He said……Yes!
So then they asked their mum.
She said……YES TOO!!
The second plan was working so far…


Chapter 6

Kay, Charlie and Rose met up at school the next day and discussed the outing.
After school, they met up at Kay's mum's place.
"You sure you can pay, Katie? You're a little…forgetful sometimes." Her mum asked in an unsure voice.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, mum! I know!" Kay called.
But as Kay's parents and the twins' parents left through the door, Kay suddenly needed to go to the toilet! So Charlie, Rose, their parents, and Katie's parents waited in the car while Kay was in the toilet.
When Katie finally got out, she saw the time…it was 4.00 PM. The others had been waiting for her since 3.50 pm! She looked through the living room window, and saw them sitting in the car, fed up. So Kay hurried out of the house, forgetting her purse, which had the MONEY to pay for the food!

When they reached McDonalds, Kay's mum asked Kay how much money she had to pay for the food. Katie looked into her bag. Her purse wasn't there…
"Umm…mum…my purse isn't in here. I think I forgot it! Oh, I'm so silly! Sorry mum, dad, Charlie, Rose, and most importantly, Mr and Mrs Linzdale." Katie apologised.
"Katie, you clumsy idiot!! How could you have forgotten the MONEY?!" Kay's dad roared.
"It's not her fault! Leave her alone! Everyone forgets things, don't they!!?" Katie's mum defended.
Katie was almost in tears. Charlotte and Rosie were trying to cheer her up, so badly, that they were almost crying too!
"Well…she is only young, Mr Winnslott." said Mr Linzdale.
Well, she may be young, but she should be a little more responsible!" Mrs Linzdale pointed out. "I mean, she's wasted our time quite a lot!"
"Guys, look! We're all falling apart! You parents are already split! Katie was only trying to bring you guys together again!" Charlie screamed.
"What?? Charlie, Rosie do you really….? Oh, girls, your dad and I aren't split because of…why you think. It's because I've been working so much that we thought we wouldn't see each other again. We're gonna get back together anyway!" their mum said, softly.



Chapter 7

So then Charlie and Rosie lived as a family with their mum and dad.
As for Katie Winnslott, her parents didn't exactly get back together, but her mum moved back in with them. Maybe fairy tales are real…Whatever!
