New Book
I've been working on a new book over the last couple of years. It's called Intelligent Life
and it's the first book of a series.
You can read the first few chapters and see how people have responded to it here.
Schools Literary Festival
The Wessex Schools Literary Festival was an incredibly ambitious affair in which a number of
schools gathered together to pool their resources and share a number of author visits over the
course of a week. It was a great success.
As part of the festival, copies of my new book were 'dropped' in public places. They had labels
attached inviting whoever picked them up to read the book and leave comments on the website.
The copies were printed without my name on so that feedback would be based purely on responses
to the writing.
The reception Intelligent Life received from audiences at the festival was really great.
And during the book signings, to my delight, the trial copies outsold all the other books on
offer during the week. For a book that's still being tested and hasn't yet got a publisher,
this was an encouraging sign.
Meanwhile the feedback from people who have picked up 'dropped' copies of the book has been
very enthusiastic. It's the first time I have ever tried anything like this and, if the
book continues to get such a warm reception during these trials, I might even be tempted to
go down the indi publishing route.
Let's see :)

How My Head Became A Planet, A Football And... A Star
I thought it would be fun to show a brief history of what the Neil Arksey Website front page
has looked like over the years. It's recently been updated.
